Description
Offering for your consideration is thisVintage (c1930) Woods Burslem England "Hyde" Pattern 12" Smooth Edge
Serving Platter.
I was fortunate enough to win an online auction that included several pieces of this dinnerware which I will be listing. The pattern presents a great fall look in a rustic brown with slight touches of blue, yellow and green which makes it particularly pleasing. The majority of transfer-ware was done with one color. Pieces of this pattern would provide an impressive display in a china cabinet or glass fronted wall cabinet The background is creamy off-white as was used exclusively at the time this item was produced. The piece is in
remarkable 1930's condition
. It has manufacturing pock marks on the back and some utensil marks and wear on the top of the dish. There are no chips, nicks, cracks, repair or obvious crazing. The piece is 12" x 9.25" x 1". The colors are vibrant and in great condition. The back is stamped with the
Woods
Burslem hallmark
and there some incised digits which I can't make out, might be 114 or 174 and a 10 ??
Note: This is a
12"L x 9.25"
W
although it looks round in some of the photos, it is a rectangular oval shape. This offer is for the platter only.

20
years
old and some are

which means me or someone at one point owned and loved it--so when you are bidding remember it is
not
new
