    Description

Treasure ancient medieval silver coins Commonwealth Poltorak,1624. 92 psc.
Poltorak - the name of a silver change coin with a face value of 1½ grosch. It was minted at the mints of the Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth: in 1614–1628 by Bydgoszcz and Kraków, in 1618–1619 by Vilnius, and in 1616–1620 by Riga. There were also crown halflings of 1654–1666, Lithuanian ones of 1650, 1652, and the last time of 1753–1756, of a different type.
Minting began due to the lack of a coin worth half a troika (three pennies) after its mass issuance. Usually on the obverse was the number 3 (meant the value in half money, which is no longer minted), on the reverse - 24 (ie the amount of money as a reminder of the previous value of the thaler).
The largest issue of P. was in 1614-27 during the reign of King Sigismund III Vaz. Initially, the weight of the coin was 1.54 g of silver (0.72 g of pure metal), later it decreased to 1.08 (0.31 of pure metal). During the 17-18 centuries. one and a half was the most common coin on the money market of Ukrainian lands, where they were often called "Czechs". Along with Polish-Lithuanian coins, coins of the same type minted at mints and Swedish possessions in the Baltics, Prussia, and elsewhere were often in circulation. German states. In Germany they were called "Brumers" (Bydgoszcz - Brumberg). One-and-a-half coins, called "Czechs", were the most common coins of Ukraine of the 17th-18th centuries, along with the dripellers of the Swedish Baltics, Prussia, and the German Empire. Identical to 1 Moscow kopeck.
