Description
Great Durgin Sterling Silver Regent Table / Serving Spoon S MonoPresented is a wonderful Durgin sterling silver serving or table spoon. This
spoon is made in the Regent pattern, which began production in 1901. This
particular spoon was likely made in the 1920s. Regent is a fabulous pattern with
ornate scroll, fan and trellis designs on the front and back of the handles. The
spoon is well made, with a nice feeling of weight and balance in the hand. The
spoon has a monogram of S in Gothic script, on the front of the handle. Please
note that although this listing is for a single spoon, we have more spoons and
other pieces in this pattern for sale. In our research we found no place
settings or groups in this pattern, only serving pieces; this is an incredibly
rare and desirable pattern with very few pieces in circulation today. If you are
a collector of Regent flatware, this is an exceptional opportunity to add to
your collection.
The spoon is in great condition. The details of the pattern are nice and
crisp. There are no splits, no dents, no monogram removals, and no repairs.
The spoon is stamped with the Durgin maker's mark as well as sterling and
'The Gorham Co' as this piece was made after Durgin was acquired by Gorham in
circa 1921.
The spoon is about 8 1/2 inches long.
The spoon weighs 71 grams or 2.5 regular ounces.
