    Description

    Groschen,
27mm, 2.65gr. Obv: +LVDOVICS DEI GRATIA __, central design. Rev: GROSSV ___ GRAVL __ SS _,  central shield.
    Mint is Hesse Cassel
    ,  Kronichter Groschen.
The interest of this coin is that it covers the key date in European history (1453) when Constantinople fell to the Turks and the Hundred Years War effectively ended after the battle of Castillon. My guess is that Ludwig would have been more influenced by events in the West than the East, based on the geography.
