Description
Presented is a fantastic sterling silver serving spoon by Alvin Manufacturing Co. This piece dates to the early 1900s. This spoon is from the popular Bridal Rose pattern, featuring raised designs of roses along the handle, shaft, and bowl. The handle has a blank cartouche, perfect for a monogram. This spoon would have been used to serve casseroles, berries and fruit, etc, and would be appropriate for any general serving purpose. This is a beautiful and well-constructed piece of silver from a very respected company, and it would be a great addition to your table setting or silver collection.The underside of the piece is stamped with 'sterling' and the hallmark for Alvin Manufacturing Co of Providence, Rhode Island.
This piece is in excellent overall condition. The designs of the pattern are quite crisp. There is some slight surface wear throughout, commensurate with age and use, as this piece has not been buffed to a high finish. There are no splits, no breaks, no dents, no monograms, no monogram removals, and no repairs.
