    Description

    Presented is a wonderful quality, heavy weight sterling silver salad server or large serving spoon made by Wood & Hughes. The spoon is done in the Angelo pattern which was first produced in 1878. The intricate Renaissance revival designs on the handles are beautifully rendered in exquisite detail on a matte finish background. The quality of the stamping/casting is exceptional. The bowl has an attractive lobed design around the top edge near the handle. It is ornamented with stunning bright cut engraving in the form of flowers, scrolls, leaves and latticework designs. The original gold wash has been preserved beautifully. The spoon has never been monogrammed or engraved.­
    The spoon is marked on the reverse with the maker’s mark for Wood & Hughes, Sterling, and Pat. 1878.
    The condition is excellent. The decoration is very sharp and crisp. There are no dents, no splits, no monograms, no monogram removals, no breaks, and no repairs.
    The spoon is 9 inches long.
    The weight is 65.5 grams or 2.3 ounces.
