    Description

    Presented is an ornate, sterling silver serving fork, asparagus or vegetable fork made by J.E. Caldwell & Company of Philadelphia during the late 1800s’. This piece was made between 1860 and 1890. The large tines are done in a matte finish, with a slight gold wash and are beautifully engraved with bright-cut designs. The handle is done in a decorative repousse form.
    The back is marked J.E. Caldwell & Co and sterling.
    This piece is in fabulous overall condition and the designs are crisp. There are no dents, no breaks, no splits, no monograms, no monogram removal and no repairs.
    The fork measures 10 inches long and weighs 152 grams or 5.4 ounces.
