Description
Presented is a wonderful quality silver Native American spoon. The spoon was made sometime between the 1880s and 1930s. Most Native American spoons are from the 1930s to the present. This piece is certainly much older than the vast majority I see. The bowl is engraved with a ruffled border with a cat and two leaves at the center. The handle of the spoon is done in the shape of the profile of a Native American face with engraving for the details of the face. This design, of a face, is quite unusual. The spoon is monogrammed on the reverse in Gothic script as you can see in the fourth photo. There is a little tarnish next to the monogram so it is hard to read. The letter is an F. The tarnish can easily be removed. This is part of a large lot of old Indian silver I recently acquired and will be listing on eBay over the next few weeks. Some of the pieces had engraving with dates from the late 1800s.
Although this piece is not marked, it has been tested and is guaranteed to be at least 900 purity silver. Guaranteed old and original.
This old piece is in excellent condition. There are no dents, no dings, no splits, no breaks, and no repairs.
The spoon is 4 inches long.
The weight is 7.1 grams.
