On offer is an undated (12th-13th c.) County of Valence Denier silver coin in estimated Very Fine condition. It is approximately 18mm in diameter.The County of Valence was centered on the city of Valence in southeast France.
In the 12th and 13th centuries, the County was a semi-independent region and nominally part of the Holy Roman Empire. Hence the eagle device on its coinage. I
