    HISTORICAL BACKGROUND
Languedoc - COUNTY OF TOULOUSE - GUILLAUME IX AQUITAINE
    (1086-1127)
William IX (1071-1127), Count of Poitiers, Duke of Aquitaine and Gascony (1086-1127), took at least twice the county of Toulouse: the first time in 1098-1100 (cf. CFMS .4219) and later William X was born in Toulouse in 1099, taking the county on Raymond IV de Saint-Gilles, the second time between 1119 and 1125/7 on Alfonso Jordan, Count of Toulouse (1112-1148).
